028: HADALOVE.COM
- November 2, 2009 2:06 PM
- ADVERTISING | DESIGN | WEBSITE
I'd not been updating this blog recently... Because of the project "Hadalove", for a skincare products series, and it has launched today at last!
This became a very important and unforgettable experience to me.
I had built the root concept of both TVCM and websites, and this (making a TVCM at the same time) was the first challenge for me, actually.
The concept I made was "Suri-Suri".
Suri-Suri means a sound of rubbing something, in Japan. And I guess this common expression is not only in Japan - if you have something really favorite, you would rub your cheek on it.
So, I wanted to tell "If you use this skincare products, it makes everyone want to rub your brand-new beautiful skin with their own cheek. blah blah blah..." through Suri-Suri.
And the products' main concept is "simple". So I didn't make the website decorative. A little bit too simple? Why not? hehe
BTW, when I was thinking about the famous standard Jazz song called "Cheek to Cheek", I got this idea suddenly. We often can find ideas, from some totally unrelated things. And I like this way better. I don't wanna get the inspirations from only internet, then express it only in internet again.
Anyway, please enjoy this website together with the sound. Don't forget to make it fullscreen first. And also enjoy the TVCM if you live in Japan.

023: BOONEOAKLEY.COM - HOME PAGE ON YOUTUBE
- June 10, 2009 12:42 PM
- ADVERTISING | TECHNOLOGY | WEBSITE
When I was taking a look at THEFWA.com, I found such a great website with a very novel idea.
This website has been made of only those functions of Youtube.
Right now, we think it's just a website made of Youtube, but you know, unbelievably tons of people is watching Youtube everyday, but no one could make this idea before them. It looks very easy and simple, but I can tell that the team which built this has a very flexibly point of view.
Of course, I guess that someone already conceived an quite similar idea, but there is a huge difference between just "planning" and "execution", in fact.
Also I really like this atmosphere of the art direction. I know this kinda "low fidelity style" is a very big movement recently in a design industries (especially internet) in '00s.
Anyways, I'm gonna do my best to have new ideas like this!

This is the top page of this website. You can navigate to everywhere from here.

Not only this technical idea, but they also have an absolutely great creativity.

Of course every contents were made by movie, so if you won't touch them, it's gonna be changed and finished automatically.

022: WARP.NET HAS REDESIGNED BY UNIVERSAL EVERYTHING
Warp.net has been redesigned by Universal Everything recently.
The founder Matt Pyke used to be a member of Designers Republic. Their DNA exists still around the UK design scene, although Designers Republic has closed its doors unfortunately.
Warp's websites were built by Kleber for long time, but I couldn't find their name on the credit anymore. It means Universal Everything and Kleber are building a really close relationship, I guessed.
The production company for this website was Remote Location which is a obviously cool creative boutique.
Anyway, I really love UK web design industry's Ajax fundamentalism style! Very cool, mate!! =)
This below is "Warp Playlist". They're not only great artists, but also awesome business people!! Haha

The pokemon website was chosen for Games-Related category of 13th Annual Webby Awards Official Honoree!! Yes!
Unfortunately, it couldn't reach for the Nominees and of course Winners ("Official Honoree" means kind of "Shortlist"), but I'm still so happy! I'm very glad that I could be a part of the great project team members.
Thank you for all!! =)

018: CAROUSEL; A CINEMA 21:9 PRODUCTION
This microsite was made for the Philips's "A Cinema 21:9" television. This is a totally simple website but also very impressive! I don't have any ideas how to make this kinda crazy technical movie, at all.
I like web advertisements, because they can be standing on a nice point between ads and arts then make the border to be obscurely. Of course it's not possible every time, at least easier than the other medias though, maybe.
Anyway, I love this one as both an advertising and a movie.

011: KIKOE - CHIKARA IWAI

I made the simple website about the movie titled "Kikoe" for my man Chikara.
"A document of a system observed from a fixed point, and the point is the musician Otomo Yoshihide. It is a gesture, arbitrary yet perfect, as though connecting stars with lines and giving a name to the constellation."
This movie is amazing! You can watch this in some film festivals and EUROSPACE Tokyo on Jun.

I've changed my website a bit, lately. I just wanted to make a really simple and relaxing website.Sometimes, we can find some very beautiful photos on Google Maps. This website is kind of an archive for those hidden places, basically.
I used random script, so you won't see the completely same photos never.
We even couldn't see the tops of the high mountains so easily before. Now, we can get such a very high resolution photos in anytime, anywhere. This is a very wonderful thing! Don't you think so?
I don't get bored at least for 1 hour with these photos... :-)

Okay, I'll be a part of this dude! (Cus I luv Ma.gnolia!)
Super Secret Special Announcement for Ma.gnolians
Top secret document... please don't blog or tweet until 10:00 AM PST Friday, August 22
First of all, we want to say thanks from the bottom of our flower pot for being part of the Ma.gnolia community for the past couple of years. We are immensely proud of the strong and generous community that has budded and bloomed on Ma.gnolia and that has been all you.
Secondly, we wanted you to be the VERY FIRST to know about a very exciting announcement we are making this morning at Gnomedex in Seattle:
Ma.gnolia is kicking off development of Ma.gnolia 2, or M2 for short. What does that mean? Well, for one, M2 is a ground-up rewrite of Ma.gnolia, re-creating features we love today, taking a second run at what didn't worked as well as planned, on a distributed, service-based architecture designed to handle the large volumes of data we've seen. But even more significant, M2 will be an open source project that can be downloaded to remix and run as your own.
Yep. That's right. In a few months, you will be able to download and install your very own Ma.gnolia!
For any further details, stay tuned to the Ma.gnolia blog, but for now, you can find out more at http://ma.gnolia.org/. Your feedback and ideas are welcome!
Here's to YOU, M2 and creating the building blocks of the open web!

About 6 years ago, I offered to do a job together to him. I'd got very impressed at that time. And the website that we made got the Cannes Advertising Award.

ARCHIVE 118: SWITCH BACK TO MOVABLETYPE AGAIN
- February 6, 2008 4:17 AM
- TECHNOLOGY | WEBSITE
![]()
I've switched this blog's CMS to MovableType again.
I was using MovableType before, but I switched it to WordPress because of just my interest.
Actually, I've realized that MovableType is much easier to use than WordPress. This is my opinion. I know it depends on the way to use the blog for, but I can say that especially for designers, MovableType's construction is very sophisticated and easy.
I hate that I have to republish every fxxxing time but that's very small thing. I don't mind.
Anyway MovableType4 is totally different with the older version ones. The biggest reason is MovableType had changed to open source, I guess. This was a very great decision.
But there are some problems at the importing entries from WordPress to MovableType. Every line breaks had gone away!! I have to fix one by one... ;-(

ARCHIVE 113: INTERNATIONAL DADA ARCHIVE - THE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA LIBRARIES
This Web site is designed to provide information on the resources and services of the International Dada Archive at the University of Iowa Libraries. It is the gateway to the International Online Bibliography of Dada. As the site is developed, it will also become a resource for additional information about the historic Dada movement and the individual Dada writers and artists, as well as links to other Internet resources.
At a campus festival when I was an art student, we opened a Tacos bar called "Cavalet Voltaire". I named it and of course the name came from the cavalet which was opened by Hugo. I was really into the ideas of Dada, at that time.
I've just found this website. This is a very valuable archive. Enjoy!

ARCHIVE 097: HOW TO CHANGE THE COLOR OF YOUTUBE EMBED PLAYER
- November 21, 2007 3:07 AM
- TECHNOLOGY | WEBSITE
![]()
Recently, a couple of new functions were added to YouTube embed player.
One of those functions is the showing some related videos' list when the end of movies, or by clicking a button.
And the other one is the customising of the colors and the border of a player.
Related Videos' List
You can control about including this list or not by the parameter "rel".
"rel=0" = Don't include related videos
"rel=1" = Include related videos
Customise Color and Border
Use those parameters "color1", "color2" and "border".
Of course "border" is for the border.
"border=0" = Hide border
"border=1" = Show border
And the color customising is just a little bit complicated.
The parameter "color1" is for the base color of a player and border. But the base color is shown on the very thin top area only (when "border=0").
The parameter "color2" is for the over color. And this color is gonna be 80% transparented on the control area (Actually this color's shown on a part of the border, when "border=1", anyway).
So, as a result, the mixed color of "color1" and 80% "color2" will be the main color of a player.
I've changed some players on this page, so check'em out.

This is the final day of my work this year. It was a very dramatic year and passed so quickly.
At last I've been able to feel very comfortable in Osaka. I totally like this town. There are a lot of very tasty food which is so cheap! Yum Yum... Of course there are a lot of very nice restaurants in Tokyo too, but if you wanna experience the same kinda things with Osaka, you gotta pay much more money than here.
By the way, I found such a very nice meaningless website called "Wii Kitten". Yeah, it's cute. But I need more explanation to understand why should those kittens had to be with the Wii controller. lol
Usually, in my job, I'm making some websites these are only for clients. So we have to concentrate deeply for making the concepts for every creativity. The cost for making those websites is paid by clients. And you know the cost is not small, so we have to be very serious to think about the concepts. (Of course there are many other reasons to be serious for my job, though.)
Well, what I wanna say is, I envy creators of that kinda websites which is so free, so fun and... very popular! lol
Boys be ambitious! Keep it real! Be free! Respect!
