ARCHIVE 153: A WEEKEND TRIP TO FUKUI 2
- June 2, 2008 8:27 PM
- NOTE
![]()
OMG it was an unbelievably crazy trip...
Just one day before, I and my friend had decided to go to Fukui to see the Kireek's gig.
And actually I have a lot of old friends there, so I really wanted to meet them again too.
We ride on Dj Hi-C's car, and had arrived there around 5 PM on Saturday. We were enjoying the party till really late night...
Any foreigners don't know about Fukui at all, I guess. Actually even Japanese don't know so much either. But in fact, there is a really deep and real music culture!
Guess what, both Dj Akakabe (2002 DMC world battle champion) and Dj Yasa (2007 DMC world team champion) came from same hometown, Fukui!
Can you believe that such a tiny town has produced two world champions!
And even Techno, Rock, House, Break Dance, etc etc... those genres' level are very high too. A guy who got the second place of some big break dance world championship is from Fukui.
You know Richie Hawtin's recent Japan tour was in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Fukui!! lol
Anyway, there are even many kinda delicious locol foods, for example Echizen-crab, Echizen-Soba, the world famous Koshihikari-rice, and so on.
If you have a chance to come to Japan, you'd better to come to Fukui!
Big up all homies there!

"What would it be like to know the vast majority of Generation X and Y has seen you naked? When I saw this photo I was blown away. This is Spencer Elden, the infamous baby chasing a single from Nirvana's Nevermind album cover. He is now 17 and finishing up his final year of high school in LA. It is amazing to think of the part he played in music history without ever having experienced it."
So funny!

ARCHIVE 139: NAGISA MUSIC FESTIVAL

I'd joined Nagisa Music Festival yesterday. It was enjoyable very much!
Techno, Hip-Hop, Trance, Reggae, Rock... many kinds of genres were mixed up at that party.
Do you know especially Trance music is very very popular to younger generation in Japan lately, so many Trance headz were there. (I was already too old to enjoy Gore-Trance anymore, though. lol)
Well, this kinda big party is very rare in Osaka. Gimmi mo' pls!!

My man Ah-Oh-Chang had stayed at my home for a couple of day. He is one of the really really interesting persons around me. This time, guess what, he came from Tokyo to Osaka by a very old bicycle! And he reached the top of Mr. Fuji on the way of this trip. And and... oh, I have too much a lot of things about him that I really wanna tell someone! (ex. He went to Australia and rode a bicycle for over 10,000km long! etc etc...)
Still, His trip is not finished yet. He's gonna go to Kyoto, Hyogo... and the goal is his own town Shimane. RUN AH-OH-CHANG, RUN!
I totally respect you. Big up!

I went to meet my friends to fukui, last weekend.
I met many many old friends, went to a club together, drunk too much, and ate a lot of unbelievably yummy food. I was totally enjoying this time again.

And at last, I could take some photos of the yummiest Soba shop in Japan! I really really recommend this shop called "Shuku-nuno-ya". If you have a chance to go to Fukui, you really have to eat this Soba, seriously. It's a miracle. Let me take you down, 'cus I'm going to Soba paradise... WANNA GO AGAIN RIGHT NOW! X-(

So lovely! I really wanna get one. Anyway, Afghan children have an infinity imagination, aren't they?
Only the right bottom one has special background, but it's too hard to me to find the speciality of that doll. I think I lost something important with the city life.
And I love these photos, seriously. Cheap lighting, kitsch background color gradation (these remind me the Adobe Illustrator's preset gradation patterns those I've never used), but exact masking. Good job dude! :-)

ARCHIVE 078: A NIGHTMARE OF THE JAPANESE GRAND PRIX
- October 3, 2007 6:56 PM
- NOTE
![]()
It was a nightmare.
I went to Shizuoka last week, by my business trip. There was "Fuji Speedway" circuit close to the place I went (about 1 hour). At that time, fortunately the Japanese Grand Prix of the Formula One had been holding at the circuit.
On the second day of the business trip, I could take a time, so decided to try to watch the race.
I didn't have any tickets though, but I guessed it was possible to get the ticket at the entrance or from someone there.
First, that guessing was the trigger of the nightmare, but I didn't know that still right that time...
I took trains and a taxi to the circuit.
Just after arriving there, I totally regretted.
It was unbelievably COLD! I was the only one person who was wearing only T-Shirts at the place. And I guessed that there are some shops or restaurants of course, but nothing I could find. Nothing but the big busses and people at all. I was so fxxxin' starving and pouched!!
Yeah, you know that I couldn't get any tickets, food and drink. But, at last, I found a place there I could peep the race.
I shoot the photo from there.
But it was a deep deep foggy day, so I could see only the tail lamp of those machines...
Can you believe that? Well, I couldn't. :-(
And then, after I went back to home with lost heart, those busses were stopped by some accidents (sinking road), I heard. By that accidents, many many persons had to wait for about 5 hours in the cold rain.
In the end, it was the worst race in the long Formula One history I've ever seen...
Hey Toyota! Gimmi back the precious day off for me!

ARCHIVE 019: TASTE FOR MAKERS

Actually I've had a very sad news recently. A person at my old company's who was a coworker has died by a traffic accident. He was a totally good person. So happy, laughing all the time, and very warm...
We were working together making some websites and ads. He was a very talented producer.
And now, I've just remembered this essay. I was introduced to this by my friend who is a copywriter, when I was working in my old company with him. And I've been very influenced by this since then.
So this essay makes me remember that era, and that era makes me remember this essay.
I want everyone to read this, if you are making something. It might effect to your creative thinking I think.
Well, He and I were making something together, and got a lot of things from that experiences. I really wanna say thank you so much to him.
Rest in peace...

ARCHIVE 012: A NIGHT IN KYOTO
- January 6, 2007 3:56 PM
- NOTE
My friend James came to Kyoto from Tokyo yesterday.
We hung out in a club till 6 am with another two of his friends, Dylan and Takashi.
They are very talented persons, I have been influenced with their ways of thinking very much.
Dylan made his own game company in Kyoto. Guess what, he made the "StarFox" when he was a teenager! Yeah, he's kinda genius...
And Takashi is working in Nintendo's Frankfurt branch office.
We talked deeply about the details of the game industry. I got to know a lot of stories behind such totally interesting things about video games.
Well, after eating, we drank sooooo much in the club as usual!! They are British (even Takashi was living in London for more than 10 years), so they were drinking an unbelievably amount of alcohol!
I'd reached my place around 8 am... And still feeling drunk... zzz

I really enjoyed last night! First, I went to the "Bonenkai (Year-end party)" with everyone in my division. Actually it was so so this time, but I could eat and drink a lot so... okay. Whatever.
Then, my elder brought us for a drink after that. I was unbelievably drinking and drinking a lot there. I can't remember the details of the place so much, but I think I never have had that kinda experience in my life. lol
After then, my friends and I went to another friends' party in Shinsaibashi.
My buddy a rapper called "Balloon" is a very very interesting young guy, he used to be a Sumo wrestler, but he didn't wanna give up his dream to become a rapper. So he stopped Sumo and came to Osaka for his dream. You know he is really really really big and fat, and setting his hair in a spiky mohawk. He looks so naughty and dangerous, but is very pure and kind at heart though.
And, I met the most famous graffiti writer in Japan again in the party. He came back from a overseas-writing tour just recently and is also a Drum and Bass Dj too. He played last night, it was nice yo!
After, I came back to my place in morning. I had had an totally enjoyable time but I have got a fxxkin' heavy hangover now!! Shiiiiiit!!
