Another shocking and extremely sad news hit Tokyo on Friday, February 1.
Space Lab Yellow, the city's one of the longest running dance clubs and the world's top DJs' most favoured spot, has officially announced it's closing in June 2008.
The place, widely called as 'Club Yellow' or just 'Yellow,' opened in Nishi-Azabu, Tokyo in '91, and they just had huge parties last December, one with David Morales and Frankie Knuckles, to celebrate the 16th anniversary of the club and also the 20th anniversary of Def Mix together, and another one with Moodymann.
Regardless of its rather small capacity of approx. 800, Yellow has been hosting the nights with the world's A-List DJs and artists. From Francois K to DJ Premier, Laurent Garnier to Mad Professor, Chicks On Speed to Joe Claussell, Lee Perry to Carl Cox... and it has been the most established, quality club in town throughout its history.
